Four Suspects Resisted Arrest After Deputies Found Over 400 Grams of Crystal Meth

*KALAMAZOO COUNTY* — Four people from Kalamazoo were arrested Wednesday after deputies seized over 400 grams of crystal methamphetamine during a traffic stop near US-131 and 116th Street in Martin Township, according to the Allegan County Sheriff's Office.

The stop occurred on April 22, 2026, and multiple suspects allegedly tried to resist arrest and destroy evidence.

During the encounter, three deputies were exposed to potentially hazardous substances and transported to a local hospital for evaluation. Another deputy was injured after being bitten by a suspect.

One suspect required hospital treatment for a possible overdose. All involved parties have been treated and released.

Over 400 grams of crystal methamphetamine was seized from the vehicle. The seizure led to a search warrant execution on Washington Street in Kalamazoo, where more evidence of drug distribution was located.

Four Kalamazoo residents were arrested and face multiple charges, including:

  • Resisting and obstructing police causing injury
  • Resisting and obstructing police by attempting to destroy evidence
  • Possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver

Agencies assisting in the investigation included the Allegan County Sheriff's Office, Allegan County Sheriff's Office K9 Unit, Portage Department of Public Safety K9 Unit, Michigan State Police Wayland Post, and the Michigan State Police Fifth District Crime Prevention Squad.
