PLAINWELL, Mich. — A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Plainwell on the evening of Thursday, October 8, and was taken to the hospital, according to the Allegan County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies reported the person was hit by an eastbound SUV at the intersection of Cross Oaks Mall Drive and M-89 at 9:16 p.m.
As of 10:30 p.m. Thursday, the Allegan County Sheriff's Office Crash Reconstruction Team was on scene investigating the incident.
The sheriff's office asked drivers to avoid the area and advised that the eastbound lanes of M-89 between 13th Street and Oaks Crossing Drive were closed. An update was expected once the roadway was reopened.
The sheriff's office did not immediately release the identity or condition of the pedestrian.
