A Cross-State Theft Ends in a Richland Arrest
*Richland Police Department* officers arrested a suspect and recovered a stolen vehicle during a traffic stop on the morning of June 17, 2026, the department said.
The vehicle had been reported stolen from Kokomo, Indiana, according to a press release from the Richland Police Department published through the Ross Township website.
"On 17 June 2026 at approximately 0958 hours, officers from the Richland Police Department, with the valuable assistance of the Ross Township Police Department, located and recovered a vehicle that had been reported stolen from Kokomo, Indiana," the release read.
The arrest was described as a team effort between the two agencies. Ross Township Police Department officers provided details about the theft that led to the recovery, Richland officials said.
Vehicle Impounded, Suspect in Custody
The vehicle has been impounded and is scheduled to be returned to its owner, according to Richland police.
Authorities have not released the name or age of the suspect, nor the make or model of the vehicle.
"We are grateful for the quick response and collaboration with the Ross Township Police Department," the press release said. "This joint effort demonstrates the strength of partnerships between law enforcement agencies in keeping our communities safe and ensuring stolen property is returned to its owners."
Interagency Cooperation
FOX 17 reported that Richland Police thanked Ross Township for providing details about the theft. The station noted the vehicle was recovered during a police stop in Richland around 9:58 a.m. Wednesday.
Ross Township officials highlighted the case as an example of regional law enforcement coordination. The township's website posted the joint statement from both departments.
The Richland Police Department did not specify what charges the suspect faces.
