A road with history

West S Avenue is a two-lane road that cuts through a rural corridor of Texas Township. The stretch where the crash occurred runs through wooded areas with limited lighting and no commercial traffic.

This is the second major incident in Texas Township this month. On May 29, the Wildwood Off Main apartment complex in the area made headlines after a Denver-based owner stepped in following chaotic evacuations, according to earlier reporting.

The sheriff's office has not said whether the two incidents are connected.
