Woman arrested after stabbing partner at Eastview Apartments
A Vicksburg woman was taken into custody Friday after police said she stabbed her boyfriend during a domestic dispute at an apartment complex in the village.
Details of the incident
According to the Vicksburg Police Department, officers responded at approximately 3:39 a.m. Friday to Apartment 4C at Eastview Apartments, 1900 Baldwin Ferry Road, in reference to a domestic disturbance.
Police said officers arrived and observed the apartment door slightly open. After announcing their presence, officers made contact with a man and woman who appeared from a hill area of the apartment complex.
The individuals were identified as Christopher Hopkins, 27, and Aliyah Montgomery, 39, who police said were intimate dating partners.
During the investigation, officers determined Hopkins and Montgomery had been involved in a physical altercation that resulted in Montgomery allegedly stabbing Hopkins in the lower left lumbar area of his back.
Montgomery was taken into custody and transported to the Vicksburg Police Department on Veto Street. Hopkins was transported to Merit Health River Region for medical treatment.
