Andrea Graham, 31, appeared in Calhoun County Court Wednesday afternoon and pleaded not guilty to charges of first-degree murder and carrying a pistol when attempting to commit a felony.
The shooting occurred Sunday afternoon around 4:30 p.m. on April 12 at a home on South Ridgeway Drive near Country Club Boulevard in Battle Creek. The Battle Creek Police Department responded to a call where a woman outside told officers a man who had been shot was inside.
First responders found the victim in the home with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not identified the victim.
The woman who directed police to the home was arrested on a charge of open murder. She was taken to the Calhoun County Jail to await her arraignment hearing.
Graham did not comment on the alleged shooting during her arraignment. Her attorney described her as a stay-at-home mother with two children. The attorney also said she has two misdemeanors on her record but no previous felony convictions.
The court denied her bond. If convicted of murder, Graham could face life in prison without parole.
