Students Gain Hands-On Experience With Military, Trades, and Public Safety Representatives
*BRETHEN* — Students at Kaleva Norman Dickson Schools gained valuable career insights during a comprehensive job fair held Thursday, March 26, 2026 at the school in Brethren.
Representatives from the military, public safety, manufacturing, education, and various other industries filled the school gymnasium to meet with students from all three of the district's schools.
Interactive Booths Offer Real-World Experience
Eighth grader Chelsea Curry said the job fair provided excellent information about career paths.
"It's been pretty cool. There are a lot of cool jobs," Curry said. "I definitely recommend trying one of the colleges out or going to one of the places, because they're really unique."
Students could get hands-on experience at multiple booths throughout the day. At the Mobile Medical Response booth, students practiced intubation on a manikin. The Manistee County Sheriff's Office table offered students a chance to try a protective shield. Outside, Zupin Crane allowed students to see a 40-ton boom truck crane in action.
