Man Arrested After Stolen License Plate Sparks Two Chases in Galesburg
*GALESBURG, Mich.* — A stolen license plate resulted in two chases and a man getting arrested in Galesburg, according to the Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office.
At 12:38 p.m. Tuesday, a deputy with the Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office found a car displaying a stolen license plate and tried to stop the driver as they pulled into a parking lot.
When the driver saw the deputy, however, he immediately sped away.
Seven minutes later, deputies found the man's car on Miller Drive, and neighbors shared information about where the driver ran off to.
A K-9 track was then launched, and during that search, deputies learned the man was spotted near the Shell gas station on 35th Street, according to the sheriff's office.

The man then tried to steal a pickup truck to escape, but when he couldn't, he continued running.
He was quickly tased and arrested, deputies said.
As of Tuesday, the unnamed man is being held at the Kalamazoo County Jail on charges of fleeing and eluding, resisting and obstructing and attempted unlawful driving away of an automobile, according to the sheriff's office.
