OSHTEMO TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A 41-year-old woman is in custody following a shooting at an Oshtemo Township apartment building early Saturday morning, authorities said.

The incident occurred just before 5 a.m. on April 4, 2026, at an apartment located in the 700 block of Butterfly Road, near the intersection with Green Meadow Road.

Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the scene and found a 31-year-old man who had sustained a gunshot wound to his leg, according to KCSO. The victim was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect, a 41-year-old woman, was taken into custody without incident, KCSO said in a release.

"The victim was taken to the hospital, police said," confirmed multiple law enforcement sources familiar with the investigation.
