RICHLAND TOWNSHIP, MI (The Kalamazoo Press) -- A woman is dead after a single-vehicle crash in Richland Township early Sunday morning, according to the Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office.
First responders were dispatched to the intersection of North 35th Street and Greer Drive around 2:00 a.m. Sunday. Upon arrival, they found a woman inside her vehicle, which had struck a tree.
Emergency crews worked the scene, but the driver was later pronounced dead.
The Sheriff's Office said that because the investigation is still underway and out of respect to the family during notifications, no identifying information about the victim is being released at this time.
The cause of the crash has not yet been determined, and investigators have not commented on whether alcohol or other factors were involved. The Sheriff's Office said it would provide updates as the investigation progresses.
